In their Local Plan which determines the Council’s building priorities, Labour outlined their desire to concrete over our precious green spaces.
On Page 21 of the Local Plan document, Labour detailed that ‘large greenfield sites....will also have a role to play’ in delivering the Borough’s housing requirement on an annual basis’. The Lib Dems have failed to be an effective opposition in standing up to Labour’s plans to destroy our green spaces.
Labour and the Lib Dems also opposed the Conservative Government’s plans to drop housing quotas – which will allow green spaces in Chesterfield to be saved by giving Councils flexibility to consider the unique character of areas like Chesterfield
Chesterfield residents are clear that they want to keep our green spaces – but this can only happen if Labour and the Lib Dems are kept out of Chesterfield.
Prospective Conservative MP Ben Flook will always work with residents to oppose Labour and the Lib Dem’s plans to concrete over Chesterfield’s green spaces.
Working with residents and the government, Ben Flook will deliver new investment for Chesterfield and create local jobs - and will work with you to save our green spaces.
